Work

I have had three past internships at Qualcomm, in which I had the opportunity to work on everything from 3DoF Virtual Reality, Computer Vision, and UICCs. Through these experiences, I was able to learn technologies such as Unity with the Google VR SDK, C#, and Android Studio.

This year, I was privileged to become a UCSD Early Research Scholar, through which I conducted research under Sorin Lerner and William Griswold. Through my team's work on crowdsourcing software correctness proofs through gamification, I had the chance to work in Unity 2D development and server connections.

As Project Manager for a team of ten, I organized logistics and developed Where2Pee in my Software Engineering coursework, a crowdsourced restroom location app on campus allowing access to information such as handicap accessibility. Our development work was done in React Native and Firebase.

About

Hey there! I'm Caroline, a second-year Computer Science major at UC San Diego. I have accepted an offer with Intuit for a Software Engineering Internship for Summer 2019!

Through my involvement with extracurriculars at UCSD, I work to equip students with the skills that they need to succeed in the workplace, and help to get them there on the corporate side. As the Tau Beta Pi Vice President External: Technology next year, I hope to strengthen campus-to-corporate networks, putting smart and dedicated students in contact with companies that can benefit from their insight and hard work. As a returning tutor for the CSE Department, I work to equip students with these skills in the first place as well.

I'm a passionate proponent of diversity in tech. As a committee member of the Anita Borg Leadership and Engagement Program at UCSD, I organize conferences hosting local high school girls in an effort to resolve the gender imbalance in engineering. I'm also an active mentor of four female UCSD engineers through Women in Computing and the Computer Science and Engineering Society at UCSD. Through my work as the Event Specialist for TritonXR, the VR club at UCSD, I hope to share the magic of VR with students from all walks of life.

I love to spend my spare time singing with my a cappella group, playing D&D, performing aerial silks, reading fantasy novels, trying new recipes (feel free to ask me for my favorite toffee recipe!), and developing for VR on my Google Daydream.
